Book : A Useful Death Author : Sriram Chellapilla Publication: Westland Books A Useful Death – sounds like an intriguing title, isn’t it?   The plot is indeed as captivating as the title appears to be.   Authored by Sriram Chellapilla, A Useful Death, published by Westland Books, is a murder mystery set in Hyderabad. A young girl commits suicide and there are several people from an influential family who would have driven her into it. The protagonist, Partha is up to find the truth, but when he and his team digs deeper, they realise there’s a lot more than just what appears on the surface. The journey to deciphering the truth is interesting.

Chanakya, the pig-tailed genius, we all know him as a brahman with unmatchable brilliance. However, the author in the first installment of this historical fiction portrays the 7-year boy who is unaware of the working and operations of this cruel world. This 7-year old Chanakya struggles with the people around who can simple not match up to his level of intelligence. This book introduces us to a Chanakya who is clever and intelligent and yet to get wise.

The protagonist working in MNC with awesome career prospects to kill for and in a jiffy quits the same. Leaving the urban life, he has toiled hard for, behind he heads towards the rural region – to his ancestral property. Destiny turns out to be in jesty mood, as Ravi realises that one thing he can do here is starve. Such is life!

Such is the impact of ‘The Woman Who Saw The Future’ (TWWSTF) authored by Amit Sharma. I guess that’s the thing about good (fiction) stories, it get you back to real life but not empty handed. You return with a thought in head that inspires you to be good, do good.

Asif Publication: HarperCollins It is often the thought of acquiring the knowledge of the unknown that gets us curious and motivates us to do things, we never thought we were capable of. Something beyond our reach and power, acts as an influencing factor for achieving the unexpected and the impossible. This thought is what sets the plot of the book – ‘Hell! No Saints in Paradise’. This is a well- researched book by the author A. K. Asif and dives deep into the religious teachings of Islam; he has carved out a blueprint of what the country would be in the hands of the extremist sometime in the year 2050.

The story has several emotions such as love, romance, action, thriller, desperation, longing and certainly, pain.      The plot of story is about childhood sweethearts who are forced to part ways due to drastic situations; only to meet later in life, again in strange circumstances. The story takes a turn, when in incident the protagonist is killed and he is re-united with his childhood best friend.
