Book : Indogene: Stories of Indians Across the Globe Kindle Edition Author : Sriram Devatha   Publication : Klang Sound Solutions         Indogene! You read the title of the book and look at the cover image and you know what to expect in the pages you flip thereafter. Authored by Sriram Devatha, Indogene is an anthology of 10 short stories of Indians settled abroad spread across different countries and different periods.   The first thing I noticed is that the author’s writing style is very lucid. The flow of the stories is engaging. I especially liked how he has described the reactions to inanimate things for an example "keys chimed back in return". 

Book : 13 Unusual Short Stories Author : Brendon Faife Publication: Kindle edition An anthology is a blend of so many characters, genres, and thoughts. Brendon’s book – '13 Unusual Short Stories' is one such amalgamation of various streaks of thoughts. This book is available in the online (Kindle) format. Grandma’s Touch will take you down the memory lane, but it ends on a jerking twist. The Call-Centre is a good piece that will surprise you towards the end. The Hearing Aid is a novel concept, that I have come across in this book.   

Book : The Bodyguard (Kindle edition) Author : Ruchi Singh Sold by : Amazon Asia-Pacific Holdings Private Limited The Bodyguard is a modern-day fairy tale which has a good blend of suspense and romance. The plot though not very unusual is that of a rich and handsome guy falling for a not-so-rich and strong girl. What adds to this simple plot is the suspense that starts building right from the beginning.

Book: Waterboarding Author:  Bragadeesh Prasanna Publisher: Self Published Waterboarding takes you to the life of the main character, Ved, who loses a part of his memory in a bike accident. Life isn't the same anymore for Ved, as he slowly discovers what his past looked like and how he ended up in this state. Bits and pieces of information come to him through his friends and family, however it still remains a distant puzzle that cannot be solved.  If he endured physical pain to the fullest, he also has to face distant reality about loving a woman who is no longer with him and another woman who wants to be with him. Maya is from her past whom he is curious about and don't remember much about the relationship they had. Sara is the only bridge between him and his past, but memory-loss can be a manipulative tool to play with emotions and instill new memories that are unreal in order to achieve something. In this case, Ved's togetherness and love.  ...

Book: The Blue House In Bishop   Author: Sunanda J. Chatterjee Publisher: Sunanda J. Chatterjee This is my first book by the author and I have to admit, it was quite an interesting read. The Blue House In Bishop has romance, suspense, mystery, thriller and some bit of action too. The author has weaved all these elements neatly in the story with well-defined characters. Described as a romantic suspense book, the story revolves around four main characters and their quest for finding the answers to their miseries. Alisha, Sunil, Duke and well a mysterious woman (not giving any spoilers here), who come from different directions settle down in the Blue House in Bishop. The author has vividly explained the various pasts and backgrounds of the characters and sensibly brought them all together where the main story awaits the readers.
