Quest For Love... Interesting Yet Predictable (Book Review)

Book: Finding Juliet
Author: Toffee
Publisher: Srishti Publishers

Finding Juliet by Toffee is a story about Arjun’s transformation from sweet and simple guy to the womanizer. The sole purpose of the protagonist’s existence is finding true love and it turns out that he manages to do a PH.D in how to fail in any relationship.

“Can a Geek ever find love?” is what essentially the book about. The geeky Arjun starts as a bichara innocent little boy who has been having hard luck when it comes to love and relationships.

This nice guy can’t seem to be able to decode the key to women’s complex mind and ever confused heart. His tryst with women began early, however it’s only when he gets a guru in form of a close confidante Krish, he learns how to win over women; nevertheless this quest takes him away from his original purpose of finding true love.

It is no rocket science to understand that Arjun is supposed to fell for or rather realize his love for his childhood friend Anjali and his quest will see a happy ending. It’s predictable! However, what is interesting to see is how he gets there; how does the realization of true love dawns on him.

The story also portrays several relationship elements youth today go through - attraction, lust, friendship with benefits, casual sex, no- string relations then there’s also some love-at-first sight, love, trust, honesty, bromance among others.

The author’s writing style is fluid and nowhere did the plot felt boring. The cover is interesting and tells you that you are in for a quick and fun read. Overall it is a simple read, nothing to gain or nothing to lose.

I received a copy from Writersmelon in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

You Hired Smart Talent. But Are You Training Them Right?

Every year, organizations hire bright interns and freshers from top institutes. They come in with promise, potential, and the right intent. But somewhere between onboarding and execution, something quietly breaks. Not because they lack capability. But because they’re not really trained, properly. In many workplaces, especially in fast-paced functions like communications, freshers are given tasks, targets, and timelines, but not the depth required to execute them well. Take something as simple as media outreach.

From ‘ASL Pls’ To Emoji’s

I don’t get tired; no really, I do not get tired or bored at all narrating our story to anyone. Infact every new person I meet, I try to grab this opportunity to talk about us – You and I!   And I surprise myself when I realise that I still remember it all so well. Every single detail of 4 years of friendship, 4 years of long-distance relationship, and 7 years of being married. Well, can’t really say that about the last 7 years :P, but the first 8 years are like embedded in my DNA. Pic clicked by Sudipto Roy I think our story is unique. It’s beautiful. Just 15 years old but so much has changed in this one and half-decade. Or not much?
