If it is your birthday in November

Happy Birthday! This (birthday) year, Tarot suggests keeping a tab on your overspending and excessive indulgence. Also, keep a check on health issues, especially related to lifestyle disorders.

Aries (21st March - 20th April)

You may have been putting in a lot of hard work and will continue with it. However, not all may be happening as planned or desired. If going through a bad phase, then this will soon get over. Very soon bad times will be behind you. If you expect help from others, they might turn you down.

Tarot Tip: Make use of your knowledge, resources, experience, and even pain or sufferings to get back again. Be careful, get smarter.

Taurus (21st April- 21st May)

You have been trying very hard to keep things together, for some time now. However, not everything happens as planned. Some things might end up being incomplete.

Tarot Tip: You may feel restricted and absence of options; unable to see more paths available for you. Don’t give up. Try to think of more options, there is some way out.

Gemini (22nd May - 21st June)

This month, you will see growth happening around you and will know that you have to keep moving. Stay hopeful and get going. Some action happening is better compared to nothing. It is what keeps you alive. If suffering from health issues, your health will get better, this month.

Tarot Tip: Start fresh, start strong! Stay stern, stay humble! A senior female associate or friend could help you out.

Cancer (22nd June - 22nd July)

Feeling extremely nostalgic, aren’t you? You have been spending too much time in your past. Get out of it and don’t dwell on what has gone by, irrespective of good or bad.

Tarot Tip: You seem to end up ignoring important matters. A need to stay disciplined is indicated. Focus on your way ahead. Talk to experienced people and get going.

Leo (23rd July - 22nd August)

You have been working too hard and very fast, putting in a lot of effort. This could result in tiring you unnecessarily. Maybe doing it all alone. Do you really need to exert yourself?

Tarot Tip: Take it a little easy and see around you. There is help available, make use of it. You may see help coming to you from nowhere.

Virgo (23rd August - 22nd September)

There are chances that you might end up wasting a lot of time threading over unimportant matters. Selfcare is good, excessive self- indulgence isn’t. Put your intelligence to good use. Do not get over-confident or arrogant.

Tarot Tip: Come back to reality and work on finding solutions. Learn your lessons from the past. Expect delays in solutions, but have faith.

Libra (23rd September - 22nd October)

You may be starting something new this month – a business or job. Feeling creative! A new source of inspiration has enveloped you. You may make short journeys also.

Tarot Tip: Stay grounded, and positive. Do some charity work if you feel like it.

Scorpio (23rd October- 22nd November)

You may get helpful advice from experienced people on important matters. Use your knowledge as well to make decisions. Spend some time with yourself in solitude to analyze the way forward. All said and done, you will attain your goals.

Tarot Tip: Be true to yourself. You may suffer some losses. There’s only so much you can do, as the control in your hands are also limited.

Sagittarius (23rd November - 21st December)

You might end up losing some money this month. Hard work may not give the expected results, but no work at all will yield nothing.

Tarot Tip: You may receive unexpected gifts (or money). What’s yours will come to you, what isn’t, will not.

Capricorn (22nd December - 20th January)

Lost in your path? Open your eyes, seek advice, and follow it. A good time to introspect, before taking the next steps. You might feel like helping others too, go for it. You will be successful in creative work.

Tarot Tip: If going gets tough, it is okay to reach out for help and partnership. A self-centered outlook, irrespective of the reason, is not going to help you. Coming off that rigid thinking could help you expand horizons.

Aquarius (21st January - 18th February)

A fruitful month! You will reap the results of your hard work and will be full of exciting ideas. Stay positive. Expect some good news in the family, especially related to childbirth.

Tarot Tip: This month seems to be showering blessings on you. You might find your soulmate. For those planning to get married or in a relationship, this is a good time.

Pisces (19th February - 20th March)

Seems like your hard work has paid off. You are in a good and happy state of mind and it is all that matters. Good news is expected to come your way, especially concerning family.

Tarot Tip:  If you have planning to start a new business, this month is a good time to step forward. Go ahead and take that plunge.

Draupadi - Action Prevails Emotions

The woman of Kaliyuga…. before the Kaliyuga descended One of the few very clear memories I still have of my childhood is when my mother was feeding me lunch and we were happily chatting about Mahabharata. While talking, I said ‘when I grow up, I want to become Draupadi’. She yelled at me ‘ pagal ho gayi ho kya?, kuch bhi bak bak karti ho. Khana khao chup chap ’. I was taken aback by her sudden anger. Barely 7-8 years of age, I didn’t quite understand the reason for her annoyance, then. Today, after decades I certainly do. Indeed, I do understand, why a mother wouldn’t want her daughter to become Draupadi or even get closer to what she suffered. All said and done, she was the heroine of the one of the only two greatest epics of the country’s history – Mahabharata.

Never Gone: Nostalgic…Back To ‘Bachchpan’ (Book Review)

Book: Never Gone Author: Anusha Subramanian Publisher: Penguin India Do you remember that feeling, when you had your first crush back in good old school days? Or, the days you spent trying to impress your love interest? This book will transport you back to those wonderful days – school days. At least this is what it did to me. It took me back to the days of learning and comprehending emotions such as feelings, emotions, love, friendship, companionship, sympathy, empathy, trust, happiness, sorrow, jealousy, hatred, revenge and the list is endless. I have completed my education in co-ed school and college and very closely witnessed love stories bloom and relationship break. I could completely identify with the story, plot, the setup and the characters. I loved the way the characterization has been done and the flash backs described.

From ‘ASL Pls’ To Emoji’s

I don’t get tired; no really, I do not get tired or bored at all narrating our story to anyone. Infact every new person I meet, I try to grab this opportunity to talk about us – You and I!   And I surprise myself when I realise that I still remember it all so well. Every single detail of 4 years of friendship, 4 years of long-distance relationship, and 7 years of being married. Well, can’t really say that about the last 7 years :P, but the first 8 years are like embedded in my DNA. Pic clicked by Sudipto Roy I think our story is unique. It’s beautiful. Just 15 years old but so much has changed in this one and half-decade. Or not much?
