Rather than taking the traditional route, the author explores what light overcoming darkness, good overcoming evil, and knowledge overcoming ignorance mean to us on a personal level.
The book takes us through a six-day journey: Make Room,
Clear, Welcome, Sustain, Love, and Carry. The author calls it a spiritual
companion for Diwali-season reflection and recommends following the sections in
order, with time to read, pause, reflect and practice each day.
✨ What I liked:
- The cover is beautiful, and I liked the idea of looking beyond the rituals to explore the deeper meaning of Diwali.
- The
thought that our inner light already exists; perhaps we just need to
reconnect with it.
- One
line that really stayed with me: “Many people do not lack light. They
lack contact with the light within.”
- The
questions the author raises. They make you pause and look within, and
sometimes, finding the answers can teach you more about yourself than you
expect.
My takeaway:
Some parts are repetitive. What I liked most is the reminder to be kinder to ourselves. We don't have to get everything right or have it all figured out. Sometimes, we just need to recognize what's holding us back and find our way back to ourselves, one day at a time.
