Book: My Father Is A Hero
Author: Nishant Kaushik
Publisher: Srishti Publishers

Life, as they say, is all about those little moments, in which we take strong decisions that acts as a game changer. It is the series of such moments what makes life worth living. The book My Father is a Hero is one such book. It reflects on the life of an ordinary man and the circumstances that makes him takes such decisions, and making those moments extra-ordinary.

It basically is about a strong and special bond that a single father Vaibhav shares with her 10-year old daughter Nisha. He loves her to the core and has the willingness to do anything and everything for the child. This middle class man stuck in an ordinary and thankless job, is making all possible efforts to fulfill the simple needs of his little girl, right from her singing classes to birthday party. Touching!!

The story takes a sudden twist, when unexpectedly, Nisha starts behaving mysteriously. The girl full of enthusiasm all of sudden loses her mojo. Certainly, Vaibhav is worried about Nisha’s changed behavior. He could see her becoming quitter and reserved, unlike her original nature. Vaibhav, unsuccessfully tries to find out the reason.

As a reader, this abrupt change kept me also curious as to what could have been the real reason. The narration is such, it wraps you in the agony. Of course I too had my own assumptions on the causes.

How Vaibhav makes every possible attempt to pull Nisha out of that despair is what the story revolves around; and in the process, he moves beyond his set limits and does something so unusual that even he had never dreamt of.

It is an interesting read for parents, especially father, depicting the power of an ordinary man when it comes to happiness of his child.

My rating: 3.5 Stars

I received this book from Writermelon in exchange of an honest review.

A Soul Stirring Journey! (Book Review)

Image Source   Book: The Seeker Author: Karan Bajaj The climax of the book is just unexpected. Well that's not how you would expect me to begin a review, but it's simply not what I had anticipated. In fact with the twists and turns I actually had no idea how the book will end. Had completely given up all my presumptions. I'll be honest, first few pages were a little boring for me. Perhaps, because the beginning is slow or maybe because I thought this packing your stuff and going away is a 'very guy' thing. Alright, the fact is I was jealous of Max, that  he could just walk away from his corporate life towards a different life...... However, I continued to read; I was curious to know   how far does Max go in order to reach that state where he feels detached from the world yet one with every tiny bit of the universe. And boy what a journey that was! I enjoyed it :)
